The village was officially twinned with Cuincy in 2018 after a delegation traveled from the French commune visited for the signing ceremony.
The group of five, lead by the mayor Claude Hego, arrived on Friday, March 23, 2018 before spending the weekend being shown around Twyford and meeting various schools and community groups including the Twyford Comets where they were presented with a football.
Cuincy is a commune in the Nord department in northern France. It is 2.5 km (1.6 mi) northwest of Douai.
The club has a Committee which organises the whole schedule of both home and away visits, and the touring team raises the necessary funds needed to travel by organising events during the year. Since the Twinning Twyford Comets have been in discussion with Cuincy for a reciprocal football tournament like our Dutch exchange.
